A VILLAGE will bury a time capsule for future generations to uncover as part of its Jubilee celebrations.
Dalton-le-Dale will host the party, on the green, from 1.30pm to 5pm on Saturday.
Traditional fair stalls will run during the afternoon.
Residents will also join Easington MP Grahame Morris at about 1.45pm, when a specially-made steel capsule will be buried to mark the year of the monarch’s Diamond Jubilee.
Among the items it will contain will be a poem about the anniv+ersary and a portrait of the Queen and a newspaper.
Other events being run in the East Durham village, near Seaham, for the Jubilee include a supper and entertainment night at the village hall, which will follow on from the fair.
There will also be a shared lunch outside St Andrew’s Church, on Monday.
It will move inside to the hall if the weather is poor.
