Three-car smash partially closes busy Sunderland road
The A1231 is partially closed at Southwick after a three-vehicle accident.
Two lanes of the eastbound carriageway are shut just before the Southwick turn.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are at the scene.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said the force had receveid a call at 2.11pm.
