A Hetton teenager is hoping to become a national pageant queen as she takes to the stage for Junior Miss Britain.
Bethany Mitchell, 15, is looking to scoop her first national crown as she competes against girls from across the country in Bolton on April 16.
In the run up to the big night, the Year 10 Kepier Academy pupil has been on a fundraising mission to raise as much as possible for the Children’s Variety charity, and hopes her efforts will be recognised by judges.
She said: “I held a fun day at Castle View School featuring a raffle, tombola and stalls to raise funds for the pageant’s chosen charity.
“Over 100 people turned up on the day and we managed to raise around £700 for the charity.
“All the Junior Miss girls from across the country have to raise funds for the organisation as charity is a big part of it.”
