Teen found dead in street is named by police

The teenager who was found dead in a Tyneside street early yesterday has today been named by police.

Liam Oliver, 19, who was from the Sunniside area of Gateshead, was found unconscious outside an address in Plenmeller Place, Sunniside, at 5.30am yesterday.

Police attended, along with ambulance staff, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Liam's death is being treated as unexplained, and a report has been prepared for the coroner.

A 20-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply has been bailed pending further inquiries.
