The incident is alleged to have happened when the pair met for the second time in Johnson's black Range Rover.

Johnson, of Castle Eden, County Durham, gave the teenager a signed Sunderland shirt at an earlier meeting and organised to meet again asking for a "thank you kiss".

The pair exchanged messages over WhatsApp, and Johnson is alleged to have said he "wanted more" than a kiss.

The girl told police that they kissed with tongues, and that the footballer undid her jeans and touched her.

Johnson then placed her hand over his groin, the girl said, but she moved it away.

When he did this again, the girl told officers she "felt compelled to do it" because she couldn't pull her hand away a second time.

In interview, she said: "I can't remember how it started - it sounds stupid but I can't remember."

The girl said that before she stopped, Johnson said: "If you keep going I'll have to have sex with you."

When asked why the girl did not tell police this had happened during the first interview, she said that there was "no other evidence" apart from her word.

She did not want anyone to think she was lying, she said.

"There was nothing on the texts to say that it happened," the girl added.

Following this meeting, Johnson asked the girl on numerous occasions "what she was up to" but she replied with "excuses" not to meet because she felt awkward.

Rumours later began to circulate about the girl and Johnson, she said, so she confided in her father.

"I don't like hiding stuff from my mam and dad. I had been getting chewed about it," she added.

The girl later attended the police station with her mother.

The trial continues.
