BLIND and partially-sighted Wearsiders could benefit from a pioneering scheme this month.

Action for Blind People’s mobile Sight Loss Information Service has gadgets, equipment and specialist advice to improve daily life.

They include vibrating bank note detectors to talking microwaves and tin lids.

The service will be at Sunderland Eye Infirmary Car Park, Queen Alexandra Road, from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, June 28.

Robert Harris, from Action for Blind People, said, “Everybody is welcome to come along to visit us.”
