A CONSULTANT from Wearside is to give a talk about palliative care.
Dr Peter Robson, consultant in palliative care at St Benedict’s Hospice, in Monkwearmouth, will address the next Medicine for Members meeting at South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust.
The What is Palliative Care? talk will be held on March 26, at the Education Centre at South Tyneside District Hospital, at 2.30pm.
The trust is responsible for community health services in Sunderland as well as in South Tyneside and Gateshead.
Membership of the foundation trust is free and open to people aged over 16 who live in those three areas.
Members can stand for election as a governor, take an interest in how services are developed and be consulted about proposed changes to services.
They receive regular updates about the trust’s work and are invited to events and meetings.
The regular Medicine for Members sessions aim to give in insight into the work of the foundation trust.
Numbers for the events are limited so anyone who wants to attend, or who is interested in becoming a member, can ring 202 4121 to find out more.
