FUND-RAISERS are being urged to make a splash and join the world’s biggest charity swim.
Sunderland Aquatic Centre is taking part in the national Swimathon Weekend 2012, which takes place from this Friday and is in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sport Relief.
Anna Kirk, community fund-raiser for Marie Curie, said: “It’s not too late for people to sign up and take the plunge. Every length you go to will help raise vital funds.”
Fund-raisers swimming for Marie Curie Cancer Care can choose from the 5km, 2.5km or team 5km challenges, while those supporting the Big Splash Mile for Sport Relief can take part individually or as part of a team.
Entries are open until April 25 at www.swimathon.org
