Already in the city is This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield who tweeted last night: "Hello Sunderland, what a shame to be here under such sad circumstances, but I'm sure we'll give our Denise a fitting send off."

The 83-year-old Denise was a lifelong Sunderland fan born in East Boldon, died on March 31 following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Her family have requested family flowers only, with donations, if so desired, to be made to The Bubble Foundation.

Council staff and police officers will be available during the day directing traffic to permitted parking areas for those attending the funeral.
