A little boy from the region is going to find fame both at home and overseas after winning a competition.

Ryhope toddler Freddie-Rae Malinga beat hundreds of other tots to become part of a marketing campaign for Bizzi Growin, a baby brand designing and supplying soft nursery interiors.

A UK wide search took place to find babies or toddlers for the campaign - with Freddie being entered by proud mum Rebekah, who said: "He has such a big personality and his own style and we're absolutely delighted he'll be associated with such a high quality brand as Bizzi Growin."

Freddie will be one of those faces featured on the company's branding over the next year.

The winners were chosen by a panel of independent judges, including celebrity mum-of-two and TV presenter Laura Hamilton. An overall winner was chosen, alongside six other winners - including Freddie-Rae.

As well as featuring on Bizzi Growin's branding, the 3-year-old, along with his parents, received products from the brand as part of their win. They were also treated to a two-night stay at Eaves Hall, Lancashire, and a professional photo shoot.
