The first series will end by charting Stewart Donald's takeover of the club, with the following episodes set to pick up the story as the new regime and Ross plot a revival in League One.

The Black Cats boss admits it has been a 'different experience' managing with the eyes of the cameras on him and his squad, and hopes to deliver the perfect ending come May.

"It sounds nice in theory, doesn’t it," he said.

"If it only was like a movie then it would be dead easy, and I could sit here and know the ending to it.

"Obviously, we know that we’ve got a ridiculous amount of hard work ahead of us for that ending to come to fruition.

"It’s what we want to achieve, I’ve never shied away from doing that and certainly, if it is the outcome of the season then it gives the production company what they want from it.

"It’s been an interesting experience as a manager, it’s been different to manage a club with this going around as well."

Sunderland 'Til I Die', produced by Fulwell73, is released on Friday, December 14 on Netflix with all eight episodes available.
