Sunderland swimmers to take part skinny dipping world record attempt

Have your say

THICK-skinned swimmers are being invited to strip off and go skinny dipping in the North Sea for charity.

Jacqueline Higginson, of Whitburn, is organising the third North East Skinny-Dip and wants as many people as possible to take part.

The 36-year-old held the first skinny-dip at Druridge Bay, Northumberland, in 2012. Last year, nearly 200 people, aged between five and 82, went along.

Now Jacqueline is hoping this year’s dip, which is raising funds for the National Trust and mental health charity Mind, will be even bigger. It will be taking place at Duridge Bay on Sunday, September 21, at about 6.50am.

Jacqueline is hoping to get more than 506 people involved and break the world record. Entry costs £10. To sign up, visit
