Sunderland Sunday League: McNulty the inspiration as Redhouse call Last Orders on Premier side Potters

Prolific marksman Neil McNulty was on form for Redhouse, smashing two excellent goals past Neal Bussey.

Potters equalised as Alan Golightly and David Halliday turned the tie around, but Paul Stokoe claimed a late winner to dump the Potters out. Jordan Stewart shone for Redhouse, with Lewis Lynn best for Potters.

Ashbrooke Sports Club crashed out 5-3 on penalties to Ryhope Top House after a 3-3 draw.

Paul Brooke fired two goals, followed by a Craig Vincent effort, for Top House, with Michael Austin starring, but Ashbrooke rallied as star man Nathan Renton and Clark Stead (2) struck.

Ashbrooke missed two decisive spot-kicks in the shoot-out, and Top House scored all of their five to progress.

Myers were just too good for Fourth Division Grange Park as they ran out 5-2 winners.

David Sanderson, Steven Thompson, Mark Curry and Adam Drysdale’s double earned Myers the win, while Liam Grimes hit a brace for Grange Park, who took plenty out of positives from their display. Gavin Nesbitt starred for Myers, with Lee Smith best for Park.

Thorney Close Inn recorded a morale-boosting 7-2 win over struggling Oddies.

Man of the match Terry Clinton was in fine form, with his four-goal haul. Paul Taylor, David Robinson and Kurt Jenkins made it seven, with Aaron Donkin and Darren Green responding. Michael Nicholson stood out for Oddies.

Super Kev Gordon’s double set Hylton Castle TWR on their way to a comfortable 4-1 win at Ryhope Foresters.

Jake Baker and Danni Lay made it four, while Sean Bage hit Foresters’ reply. Dale Spence shone for Ryhope, Gareth Greener for TWR.

Andy Place was once again on fire as he bagged four goals to seal RCA Grangetown Florists’ 6-0 success at The Victory Club. John Turvey grabbed a brace, while Daniel Leonard shone for Victory.

The Lansdowne put up a great show against Farra Paragon ISL, but they rued their missed chances and the visitors took theirs to secure a 2-0 win.

Lee Graydon and Stephen Bogie struck, with Kyran Whitehead starring. Matthew Frost was Lansdowne’s top man.

Even with a man sent off, Jolly Potters still managed a hard-fought 4-3 First Division win at the Board Inn.

Jordan Dagg hit a quick brace to put Board Inn in pole position, but the reliable Paul Webster scored twice to rouse Potters.

Ryan Bussey put the Potters in front before Gary Baker was given his marching orders. Liam Houghton replied for Board, but supersub Michael “Magic” Johnson volleyed home just before the final whistle to clinch victory.

Goal machines TC Plastics fired another nine goals past hapless Willow Pond in a one-sided game.

Josh Farquhar (2), Corey Bell (3), Luke Bell, Kieron Stokoe and two-goal Danny Robinson did the damage, with Jordan Cook starring. Andy Smith was Willow’s top man.

O’Brien Waste Recycling claimed three important points to pull away from the Premier Division relegation zone and put The Ashbrooke closer to the drop with a 2-1 victory.

Star man Steve Anderson bagged a tidy double, with Mark Wasey replying. William McGeorge shone for the hosts.

Southwick felt like they dropped two valuable points against title rivals SR Dons as they were in control for much of the game only to end up with a 2-2 draw.

Paul Muir and league legend John Butler scored for Southwick, but Lewis Herron and Craig Watson rescued a point for Dons. Jake Fowler was outstanding for the Suddickers, with Ross Gardner best for Dons.
