Sunderland Sunday League: Malarky and Lynn steer Railway Tavern to welcome first win

The flags were out down Hylton Road after Railway Tavern finally secured their first league win, thumping hapless TC 4-0 in Division Three.

Michael Lynn and Michael Malarky both hit doubles and are now due to sign autographs in the Mountain Daisy due to the Railway Tavern being too small. Chris Cooke starred, with Michael Mather best for TC.

The Pattison brothers ran riot as The Park demolished The Dolphin 9-0, Daniel hitting a hat-trick and Michael bagging his usual goal.

Lewis Fairley, Ryan McCollin (2), Tony Hodgson and Phillip Conlin also netted. Keeper Darren Brown stood out for Dolphin.

Ryhope New Railway narrowly beat Wearmouth CW Juniors 3-2.

Jordan Sweeney and Robbie Middlebrook scored in quick succession for Railway, but Craig Williams and Reece Young levelled before Kurt Jenkins capped a fine display with the winner.

Wear United battled gallantly against promotion favourites Grange Park before losing 2-0.

Stu Bowman was once against at the heart of most things for United, but Grange Park’s confidence is sky high and goals from David Sloanes and Lee Smith won the day. Plaudits went to United’s defence for keeping goal machine Shaun Fisk quiet

Park View moved into a promotion spot after battering Westmount 6-0.

Reece Benson hit a hat-trick, then Thomas Jones, Robert Robson and Jack Callaghan scored in the second half. Nathan Watson starred for Westmount, with Kieran Peverley best for View.

Penshaw CC, slowly moving up the table, dominated Millfield Oddies to win 5-1.

Star man Liam Binks scored twice and Kris Kane hit the third before Alan Rose cut the deficit. Chris Jameson and Jon Snelling made sure of Penshaw’s win. Oddies had Chris Robins sent off.

Brent Brooke single handedly won the game for,Silksworth Catholic Club, with a well-taken hat-trick in a 3-1 success at Millfield Free Gardeners.

John Bruce replied, capitalising on a defensive error. Callum Hutchinson shone for Gardeners.

Washington Colliery moved top in Division Two after a thrilling 7-4 derby win at New Town.

Star man Jordan Stevens bagged four goals and Ryan Mason scored to secure a 5-0 interval lead. New Town had a right go and pulled three back, with Elliott Salicki bagging a hat-trick.

Jonathan Roberts and Keith Burnett score from set pieces to make sure of victory, though Lewis Holland fired another home consolation.

Railway Club are creeping up the table after beating AFC Wearside with ease.

Anth Rogerson rolled back the year and hit four great goals in a 9-2 rou, while Bradley Timm hit fine double to prove that he’s the best footballer in his family.

Tommy Henry and Matty Rose replied, but ruthless Railway added more, through Perri Agnew, Paul Howe and Mongiwethu Nkomo.

The Victory Club lost their 100% record as Washington New Tavern battled for a 2-2 draw. Scott Hunter’s double had Victory on course for a sixth win, but Mark Wallis and star man Shaun Davies squared it up.

Mark Dryden starred for Victory.

Hendon Athletic missed out on all three points after a mistimed Richie Timm tackle in the dying seconds let in Liam Middlemas to secure a 4-4 draw for Cherry Tree.

Hendon led 1-0 and 3-1 through Chris Rowntree (2) and Micky Connor, but Michael Wilson, Middlemas and Kieron Pitkin made it 3-3.

Starlet Tommy Scott came off the bench again to smash Athletic’s fourth, but Middlemas rescued the hosts, whose star man was Conner Wilson.

Mill View CIU thought they had their first league win in the bag as they led Lakeside SSC until the dying minutes.

Stephen Conlon and Sean Brook had Mill 2-0 up. Liam Huitson finished a flowing move to rally Lakeside and Paul Stephenson’s bullet header levelled in added time.

David Raeper shone for Mill, Iain Usher for Lakeside.

The Stella made it six league wins out of six, crushing Pennywell Comrades 4-0. Comrades’ David Passmore kept the scoreline respectable.

Stephen Rutter, Gavin Teasdale and Kris Lawton (2) gave Stella the win. Mark Carswell shone.
