STRIKER Connor Wickham has been reunited with his pet pug Louis.

At the weekend, the Black Cat star turned to the Echo to help find the eight-month-old pup after he went missing on Wednesday.

But last night, Louis was returned to his 18-year-old owner who’d been left devastated by his disappearance.

Speaking on Twitter, he said: “My boy is home. Thank you for all your support. So happy he is finally home and in very good condition.”

Connor had tried everything to find his beloved pooch including pinning posters up around his home on the Darras Hall Estate, Ponteland, and offering a cash reward for his return.

He was concerned because Louis has a condition which requires him to have daily eye drops.

The SAFC player told the Echo: “It’s unusual for him to go off on his own. He’s never been past the drive on his own before.

“Because of his breed his eyes get really dry and he has to have eye drops to stop ulcers forming otherwise he could go blind. He already has scars from previous operations on his eyes.”

He added: “I’ve had him for five months now and he’s like my shadow when I’m at home, he follows me everywhere.”
