Sunderland star clinches four A*s

A Sunderland shining star is heading to Cambridge after clinching four A*s.

Harry Maughan has clinched his place at Jesus College to study medicine after sweeping the board in maths, biology, chemistry and physics.

The 19-year-old from High Tunstall said it was a nerve-wracking wait for the results, but he couldn’t be happier.

Harry, whose family are naturally very proud of his achievements, said it took a lot of hard work to clinch such amazing grades.

He said: “It was a lot of hard work and waiting for the results was terrible, but it was well worth it.”

Harry said he doesn’t know yet which field of medicine he wants to specialise in, he is just excited about heading off to university.
