TWO Sunderland pupils were ahead of the rest in a national competition.
Sunderland High School youngsters, Amelia Palmer and Louise Peart, took fourth place out of 181 entries in the app design contest.
UnitedApp2015 was launched in October and students were tasked with developing their ideas into an educational app, with Amelia and Louise’s helping with homework.
Dr Angela Slater, headteacher at the school, said: “To have reached fourth place out of 181 teams across the country is an incredible achievement.
“I am thrilled with the exceptional entrepreneurial talent and commitment that these girls have demonstrated.”
