SUNDERLAND pilot Andrew Cantle - killed in a plane crash in Ireland this week - was “a wonderful young man”, his partner’s parents said today.
Andrew, 27, from Moorside, and air stewardess Beth Webster had been together for four years.
Gary Webster, Beth’s father, said: “Andy was a wonderful young man and we were all very proud to have known him.
“He was our daughter Beth’s soul mate. They have known each other since university and have lived together for the last four years. They were planning on getting married.
“Andy was an outstanding pilot and loved his job. He has dedicated most of his working life to achieving his flying qualifications.
“He was a big part of our family and we are all devastated by his loss. We miss him dearly.”
Investigations continue into Thursday’s crash in Cork, which killed six people.
