Sunderland Pianoforte Society members were given a treat when a group of young musicians performed at a concert dedicated to a former chairman.

The late Laurie Giles introduced the Young Pianists’ Piano Festival, which gives young students the chance to perform in public.

At this year’s concert two well known pianists and teachers, Eileen Bown and David Murray, presented the evening with former students and young pianists at various stages of development.

The festive evening was attended by a large audience and there were some stunning performances. All pianists were thanked for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.

The society is proud to be associated with this event and thanks Eileen and David for their dedication and ability to produce such fine pianists.
