A PARAMEDIC from Shiney Row will be on hand to offer medical assistance during the London Olympic games.
Sheila Coatesworth is one of only a handful of paramedics from the North East that will be making the trip to London to help out the millions of spectators that are expected.
The mother of four, from Shiney Row, volunteered to take part, along with 12 other paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service.
She said: “I’m really excited about going down. I know it’s going to be really hard work and there are going to be a lot of obstacles along the way but I’m really looking forward to the challenge.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m just glad to be a part of it.”
