SUNDERLAND AFC owner Ellis Short has made it onto a list of Britain’s super rich.

The businessman has been valued as being worth £1billion by the Sunday Times, which included Mr Short as a new entry, ranked 102nd.

Newcastle United’s owner Mike Ashley, who was last year placed at 32, was listed at number 23 and values at £3.75billion. It states he has put £260million into the club, with his cash made through the Sports Direct stores, one of Britain’s biggest retailers.

The Sunday Time’s Magazine also says he has had a difficult relationship with his City investors, who recently rejected a £65million bonus plan for him.
