A Sunderland model is hoping to score for charity with a fundraising night.

Jade Bambrough, 21, has organised an event in aid of SAFC’s Foundation of Light after being announced as a finalist in Top Model of Sunderland 2016.

The sales adviser from Thorney Close says she hopes to fly the flag for Sunderland by taking the crown at the modelling contest and going on to compete nationally.

“I’m from Sunderland and I’d be so proud to win this title for my home city and my family,” she said.

The charity night will take place at Thorney Close Club on April 29 and will feature a fashion show from local clothing lines Brogan’s Closet and Marlee and Fee, as well as a buffet and raffle with prizes donated by a host of businesses.

Speaking about the work of the Foundation of Light, which provides sporting and educational opportunities to young people and their families, she said: “The charity is local and an amazing contribution towards our community, providing opportunities for everyone in which they can improve their lives.

“They have programmes for health, behaviour, attitude, skills, knowledge and more.
