Sunderland midfielder to see specialist over ankle injury
Sunderland midfielder Lynden Gooch will see a specialist today to assess his ankle injury, David Moyes has confirmed.
The midfielder was taken off on a stretcher in the Under-23 draw with Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week.
Moyes, already without Lee Cattermole and Paddy McNair, says the injury will be assessed further today.
Moyes, speaking ahead of the visit of Leicester City tomorrow, said: "Looks like Lynden has damaged a ligament in his ankle.
"He is seeing a specialist today and then will have a clearer outcome."
Moyes added that Fabio Borini has started to train, while Jan Kirchhoff has overcome a sickness bug earlier in the week.
Moyes added: "Fabio has started to train.
"Jan Kirchhoff has had some sickness this week but he'll be around the squad this weekend."
