BLACK Cats boss Martin O’Neill will be a special guest at an entertainment night in aid of Sir Bobby Robson’s cancer charity.

The Sunderland manager will be at Rainton Meadows Arena, in Houghton, for Another Night to Remember.

It follows on from the Night of All Knights event in 2008, which raised £185,000 for the cause and was attended by Sir Bobby, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and England World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton.

The night will see O’Neill joined by former Aston Villa manager Ron Atkinson as well as comedian Bobby Davro.

Organiser Michael Roseberry said he hopes to the night will provide significant funds once again for the Foundation, which has now raised £4million towards cancer research and treatments in the North East.

County Durham-born Sir Bobby, who managed England and Barcelona, died aged 76 in July 2009.

Mr Roseberry said: “We’re planning an evening which we hope will live long in the memory of all our guests and we’re thrilled that Martin will be attending.

“After the success of the Night of All Knights it’s always been in our minds to host another charity night for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.”

Mr Roseberry added: “The foundation is a cause which is close to my heart and the timing feels right to hold another event to help out.”

Pauline Buglass, head of fund-raising for the foundation, said: “We’re so pleased that Michael is hosting another night in aid of the foundation.

“He raised an enormous amount of money for the charity last time round and created an extremely special event.

“No doubt Another Night to Remember will be equally special and with Bobby Davro and Big Ron on the bill I’m sure it will be extremely funny too.”

Another Night to Remember will be hosted by TV presenter Philippa Tomson and takes place on Friday, May 11.

Tickets are available now and are priced from £1,080 for a table of 12.
