Grace House will transform Herrington Country Park into a fund-raising rainbow next weekend.
The respite care centre will hold its second fund-raising 5km Colour Run on Sunday, September 6.
Staff from The Broadway Medical Practice in Springwell Road will be taking part and team organiser Jane Edwards said: “We are all very excited to be taking part as a group and to be able to support Grace House.
“I am passionate about being able to put something back into our local community and the money we raise will benefit children and young people in our region who have a have a complex disability, health need or life limiting condition.”
Grace House fundraiser Karen Maclennan said: “Travel through our colour stations and have crew marshals paint you with special coloured powder. Wear white as your canvas and finish with your very own art piece.”
Virgin Active at Doxford Park is sponsoring the red colour station and will hold a gentle warm-up at 11.30am before the run starts at 12noon.
Everyone taking part will receive a white t-shirt, a pair of neon glasses and a medal, as well as a slice of pizza, courtesy of Pizza Uno in Pallion.
Registration is £20 for adults 16 years and over, £10 for 5-15 years-old, free for fours and under. Register on-line via www.gracehouse.co.uk/events, by phone on 0191 525 2885.
