A GYMNAST aims to prove he is flipping great once again when he stars in award-winning TV show A League of Their Own.

Nineteen-year-old Jesse Heskett, of Seaburn, will appear with gymnastics group Acropolis, made up of six members, on the Bafta nominated SKY1 show tonight, at 8pm.

The programme, which aired for the first time last night, challenges celebrities – including comedians Jack Whitehall and James Corden – to replicate the gymnastic skills shown, lead by team captains Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff.

Acropolis, based at Deerness Gymnastics Academy, Durham, is made up of British and world champion gymnasts. The group won the ITV talent show Let’s Get Gold last year, and earlier this month were runners-up in French TV competition The Best Le Meilleur Artiste.

Jesse, who has practised gymnastics since he was five, starred in both.
