The Italian playmaker has been something of a flop at Sunderland after his £6.5million move from Juventus three years ago.

He looked set to leave permanently this summer after a successful loan season at Bologna.

But after his Euro 2016 heroics with Italy, where he scored their opener against Belgium, Black Cats fans now want him to be given another chance.

In our Echo poll, 73% of voters say they want Sam Allardyce to give Giaccherini another chance.
