Sunderland fans vote Lee Cattermole as most influential midfielder

Sam Allardyce this week hailed the performances of the Teessider in helping the Black Cats try to avoid a drop out of the Premier League.

The Sunderland boss called Cattermole the team’s ‘driving force’ after teaming up in a solid midfield alongside Jan Kirchhoff and Yann M’Vila.

We asked Echo readers who they thought was the most influential player out of the trio.

And Cattermole came out on top with 54% of the votes.

Kirchhoff, who has arguably been Sunderland’s best player over the last two months, was second with 45% while M’Vila got just one per cent of the vote.
