Here's the best of the reaction from Twitter, including one or two familiar faces:

John C in Herts @JohnC2063: Sunderland's task, currently 4pts worse off than after 23 games last season and 2pts worse than in the previous one. Time for lifebuoys #safc

Michael Gray @mickygray33: Gutted we didn't pick up all 3 points...! It's gonna be neck and neck all the way yet again this season #Safc

Jonathan Carling @JonathanCarling: We looked lifeless without the ball and didn't have a clue what to do with it when we did have it. Shocking in every position. #SAFC

Mark Craig @MarkCraig19: We need points but we couldn't afford to go for it because we couldn't afford to lose. Catch 22 SAFC problems

Karam Abu-Harb @KAH_73: Still think Allardyce is the man, but he really needs to add more quality to the squad #SAFC

Chris @ChrisCrampSAFC : If we play like that, we can pack up now! We need to beat a few of them and I can't see that happening

Michael O'Connor @amikeoc: Hate to say it but if they're our relegation rivals they're a mile ahead of us #Safc @afcbournemouth

J. Simpson @_JordanSimpson: That was an absolute embarrassment of a performance from the lads today. Signings are needed desperately! #SAFC

Steven Sibbald @sibsafc: I like Sam but "is long as we don't lose" attitude isn't any good against teams like today next 3 matches maybe!!

Chris @ChrisCrampSAFC: It's so repetitive now! Why cant we just start lively and pressure the other team! Typical home performance.

Carl Hawman @CarlHawman: Only 1 man in that ground would've brought on Rodwell and unluckily for us that was our manager #safc

A Love Supreme @ALS_Fanzine: Rodwell for Lens when you have two strikers on the bench must be the most unambitious substitution in the history of SAFC

Nathan Rutherford @nathanr184: 1-1 and I'm okay with that yes it's a game we should of won but during 90 minutes we were outplayed totally #safc

Garry Burlinson @WilliamsonsDC: After the first half hour I would gave chewed me hand off for a draw.. #safc

Michael Graham @Capt_Fishpaste: It's a point more than I thought we'd get after 30 mins.
