STAFF at an award-winning dental studio have double reason to be delighted at their involvement in the Echo’s Best of Health awards.
Olivers Dental Studio is one of the impressive backers behind this year’s event. And they certainly have the pedigree to lead the way after winning two categories the last time the competition was held.
And a spokesman said they were proud to be backing the cause which gave them so much success at last year’s event.
The spokesman said: “Here at Olivers, our award-winning team strive for excellence in family dental care.
“We were so humbled to receive Dentist and Nurse of the Year at the 2014 awards, picked up by Michael Oliver and nurse Anthea Griffiths.
“We are delighted that Olivers are once again involved with the Best of Health Awards.
“We think it is great that all health care professionals at all levels are recognised for the amazing work they do across the city.
“We are particularly proud this year to be sponsoring the “carer of the year award” which is a great privilege for us. We wish everyone the best of luck.”
All we need now is for the people of Wearside to start nominating their own health heroes.
It’s easy to nominate and you can do it either by using the form on this page or by going online and nominating on the Sunderland Echo website.
Feel free to put forward as many of your favourite health workers as you think deserve honours.
There’s plenty of categories to choose from in this year’s Sunderland Echo Best of Health awards. So whether it’s your favourite GP, an outstanding nurse or a popular carer, there’s a category for all parts of our health profession.
All entries must be received by March 20.
After that, a panel of judges will meet around a week later to begin the difficult task of narrowing down the field.
They will draw up a shortlist in each of our categories. And all those who make it to the shortlist will be invited to the finals at the Stadium of Light on April 16.
