“It feels like it’s real now.”
Bride Callie Clark finally got her dream wedding day at the weekend – nearly a month after tying the knot with hubby Jeff.
The Echo revealed in May how the lovebirds had been forced to put their wedding plans on hold after Callie’s brother Kyle was taken seriously ill.
He was doing gardening work when he fell ill on April 20.
Brave Kyle defied the odds to walk his beloved sister down the aisle as planned less than a month after being admitted to Sunderland Royal Hospital’s Integrated Critical Care Unit with a serious case of pneumonia.
Callie, 28, had decided to call off the wedding, booked for May 15, so Kyle, 27, and brother Callum could stand in for dad Kevin, who passed away in 1998.

When Kyle recovered faster than expected, the couple decided to tie the knot as planned – but the wedding day Callie had been planning ever since she and Jeff got engaged had to be put on ice.
She finally got to see her dreams come true on Saturday, with a wedding picnic in Roker Park for family and friends, followed by an evening bash at the Marriott Hotel.
“I feel married now that I have had my wedding day,” said Callie.
“I know I was married before but it didn’t quite feel like it, because I had not had my day.
“This day is what I have been planning for two years.”
