A WELL-BEING fun day has been organised for Sunderland’s Polish and Hendon communities.

It has been arranged by the International Community Organisation of Sunderland (Icos), with Sunderland North Community Business Centre, Sunderland Children’s Centre and The Stroke Association.

The event will be held at Valley Road Community School, from 11am to 3pm on August 20.

It will include NHS health checks, Zumba workshops, Indian head massage, bead acupuncture, advice on healthy eating and a free health check on offer.

There will also be a bouncy castle, a penalty shoot-out, face painting and circus skills.

Icos helps ethnic minorities in the North East to access services, employment and education, and provides a drop-in centre and workshops.

Spokesman Daniel Krzyszczak said: “This event is aimed at everyone in the local area, to have an enjoyable day whilst learning about how to improve health.

“Icos has more than 200 members from countries such as Poland, Palestine and Portugal.

“We hope that people from these communities will also attend and benefit.”
