Wearside youngsters encouraged by Team GB’s success as this summer’s Olympic Games took part in a packed event at a city park.
Mowbray Park was the venue for the fourth of five Active Sunderland Area Community Sports Festivals.
Working with partners and sports clubs, the aim of the festival programme is to increase the number of people being active across the city.
Each area festival offers a wide range of different sporting activities.
On offer was the chance to play football in a cage as well as do trampolining, cheerleading, rugby, cricket and other traditional sports day games.
The next Active Sunderland Community Sports Festival will be held on Wednesday at Hetton Lyons Country Park from noon to 4pm.
Further details will be released soon.
