However, it’s been stop-start for the 22-year-old, who last boxed in May at Houghton, where he picked up win number eight, against the Czech Republc’s Daniel Bazo.

This though is a great opportunity for the former European junior gold medallist.

Macleod will be meeting a boxer as ambitious as he is on a major show which is being shown live on terrestrial TV.

Craven, from Manchester, is, like Macleod, a former top notch international amateur loking for a breakthrough and has launched life in the paid ranks with three straight victories.

They will meet over six rounds at the Echo Arena which hosts the the World Boxing Super Series show.

Macleod’s promoter, Phil Jeffries, said it is an exciting challenge for the gifted boxer.

“This is exactly what Isaac has been looking for and what he needs,” said the Wearside fight figure.

“Isaac has been boxing journeymen and winning but now he is in with a good, unbeaten kid.
