The Black Cats were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light by AFC Bournemouth, Patrick van Aanholt rescuing a point after the hosts fell behind to a Benik Afobe header.

Allardyce admits he will be "busy" this week ahead of the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday, February 1.

Sunderland don't have a game next weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal, the next match a week Tuesday at home to Manchester City.

Allardyce said: "From our point of view we now have a week to get the lads back fully fit and we haven't picked up too many injuries, which is a blessing.

"The squad is pretty fit and Younes Kaboul will be back soon, Seb Larsson too.

"I will probably be busy in the market until when the window shuts."

The Black Cats boss admitted his side could have snatched all three points at the Stadium of Light, with Billy Jones' header saved late on.

But Allardyce was pleased Sunderland, at least, picked up a point.

"West Brom, Southampton, those were times when we could have picked a point up and more," added Allardyce.

"But this time we got a point.

"We lost our nerve for a while but recovered and that is very important for me."
