A man who was assaulted in a city street last month is still in a critical condition.
Now police investigating the attack have launched a fresh appeal for help.
The 34-year-old was assaulted on Monday, March 21, in Brady Street, Pallion. He was taken to the RVI in Newcastle suffering from significant head injuries.
Detective Sergeant Lynne Colledge said: “It is vitally important we identify the people responsible.
“Our inquiries lead us to believe people in Pallion will have information and may know the identify of the offenders.
“These people may have vital information that can help and it is really important they get in contact with us, no matter how insignificant they think the information may be.”
