Sunderland are not expected to have any issues in offloading midfielder Giaccherini this summer after the 31-year-old's impressive displays for Italy during the European Championships.

Now that Italy are out of the competition, Giaccherini will resolve his future and speculation in Italy has claimed that Torino are close to agreeing a fee of around £1.5million with Sunderland.

Giaccherini only has a year remaining on his Sunderland contract and is one of the highest earners at the Stadium of Light, despite spending last season on loan at Bologna.

Fellow Italian Vito Mannone has been reflecting on his new deal with Sunderland after penning a contract until the summer of 2018.

"I've had to fight hard in the past, had up and downs, so it's a great achievement for me to sign this contract," said Mannone.

Jan Kirchhoff and Sam Allardyce are the remaining contract priorities for Sunderland this summer, with the deals of both due to expire next summer.
