Today. Jet2.com has announced the airline's biggest ever winter programme, which will launch in Newcastle Airport from October 30 this year.

Between that date and March 27 next year, more than 165,000 seats will be available for winter sun breaks - an increase of more than 50,000 from last year.

Some of Jet2.com's existing routes have been expanded, including more sets on journeys to the Canary Islands, Alicante and Faro, and a new route to Grenoble has also been added to the portfolio.

Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “This is by far our biggest winter programme to date.

"The number of North East people jetting away for some much-needed winter sunshine means we are seeing spectacular growth, and we now have over 130,000 winter sun seats to popular holiday hotspots such as Alicante, the Canary Islands and the Algarve.

“It isn’t just the sunshine that is driving growth, as our ski and city break destinations are on the up too. As a result we are adding a brand new winter route Grenoble. When you combine this with the success of our other winter destinations then it puts us in a very strong position to enjoy our most successful winter yet.”
