Stockton stars as Murton Coliiery humble the league leaders Mill View

A shock 4-1 win for Murton Colliery over leaders Mill View A has made things very tight at the top of the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League Division Two.

Gary Stockton got Murton off the perfect start, before John Burnell levelled the match.

Eddie Williamson moved Murton back into the lead before Stephen Clementson potted well to beat Peter Davies.

In the pairs, Gary Stockton/Steven Cook beat Ken Alderson/Dan Alderson 78-45 for the win.

Pennywell Comrade’s continued their good form with an excellent 3-2 win away at Seaham Conservatives.

Joe Turner potted well to give them the lead before Dean Taylor won the second frame.

Michael Monaghan pulled one back for Seaham, but Stuart Taylor moved Pennywell back into a two-frame lead.

In the pairs, Ian Hughes/Gordon Elliott beat Dean Taylor/Stephen Smith to reduce the defeat.

Lumley A took the first three frames away to Mill View B, thanks to Martin Ball, Paul Stoves and Paul Nord.

Steve Chandler pulled one back before a 36 break by John Spruce, when paired with Adrian Daniels, helped win the pairs beating Stephen Rushworth/Paul Stoves 54-34 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Cheemas where at home to The Victory and got off to a good start thanks to Aaron Duncan.

Gerry Porter levelled the match before Lee Campion moved Cheemas back into the lead.

Gurj Cheema claimed the fourth frame, before teaming up with Lee Campion to win the pairs 68-28 and make the final score 4-1 to Cheemas.

The match between Railway and Murton Official saw the singles alternate into a 2-2 situation before Railway took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

In Division One, South Hylton have built up a seven-point lead at the top after a 4-1 win at home to Biddick A.

Washington Snooker A edged to a 3-2 victory when they travelled to Lumley B.

Biddick B fought off the challenge of an understrength Whitburn to claim a 3-2 win.

Glendale had a good 4-1 win at home to Steels with only the second frame escaping them.

Breaks of 22 and 23 saw Derek Collins dominate the first frame for Washington Snooker B at home to Green Baize.

Billy Shotton increased the lea, before Peter Dambrosie pulled one back.

Sadly a shortage of players cost Green Baize the fourth frame, and Billy Bell/Roful Hoque won the pairs, beating Jordan Cunningham/Peter Dambrosie 54-39 for the 4-1 win.
