Echo readers still have time to submit entries for this year’s Portfolio Awards.
We’re entering the final few weeks in the search to find the elite of the Wearside business world.
And our hope is to add to an already great list of contenders, representing numerous sections of the city’s business scene.
With around five weeks left to enter, there’s still a chance for people to nominate for categories including the best green business section, new business and small business of the year.
We also want to hear from contenders for the Apprentice/Trainee of the Year section, as well as;
l Best Training Provider.
l City Centre Business of the Year.
l Creative Industries Award.
l Employer of the Year.
l Exporter of the Year.
l Large Business of the Year.
l Leisure Award.
l Lifetime Contribution Award.
l Medium Business of the Year.
l Overall Business of the Year.
l Social Enterprise Award.
l Special Community Award.
l Technology of the Year.
The deadline for entries is August 31 and once the deadline passes, we will narrow down the field and create a shortlist in each category. But that’s in the future and for now, we want even more entries. So come on, get nominating and let’s make it a year to remember for Wearside businesses.
We have some fantastic backers on board for this year’s event. Make it Sunderland is again our headline sponsor, and will sponsor our overall Business of the Year Award, as well as a Lifetime Achievement award, which is in the sponsor’s gift.
This year sees a new category, also sponsored by Make It Sunderland, which will recognise the contribution social enterprises make to the city.
Sponsors are Gentoo, Stagecoach, Andrew James, Station Taxis, TTR Barnes, Thompson Waste, Sunderland BID and Maxim Facilities Management Ltd, while Sunderland College is our partner sponsor.
