A volunteer charity worker has raised £780 for the Macmillan Cancer charity.
Steve Smith who volunteers at the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre, based in the Castledene Shopping Centre at Peterlee, decided to take on the challenge of cycling from the centre to Leeds to help raise funds for local people affected by cancer.
Steve would like to thank everyone who sponsored him, especially Peterlee Central Club and the Leek club.
Liz Airey, Macmillan fundraising manager, said: “I want to say a huge thanks to Steve for his fundraising.
“He did really well with his challenge and has raised a great amount of money to help people in his community who are affected by cancer.
