SUNDERLAND stars and supporters joined together to remember those who passed away in the last year.

Before kick-off in yesterday’s clash with Hull City, the club once again continued its tradition of observing a period of silence at the last home game of the year, in memory of supporters, former players and club officials who have passed away.

Fans and players inside the Stadium of Light paid their respects to supporters and former Black Cats stars and club staff.

Former players Harry Bell, Gary Breeds, Iain Hesford, Gordon Harris, Malcolm Keenan, Calvin Palmer, John Shackleton, Nigel Walker and Bill Walsh, along with former club chaplain Father Jim Cronin and masseur Bill Wilson, all passed away this year.
