St Mary and St Peter’s Project runs a number of activites throughout the week including; Monday, 9.30am-noon, volunteer gardening, 10am-10.45am feeling fit, 10-noon card craft; Tuesday, 10-10.45am feeling fit, 1pm-3pm art club, 5pm and 7pm Slimming World; Wednesday, 9.30am-noon volunteer gardening, 9.30am-11am toddler group (term-time); Thursday, 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm card craft, evening bingo; Friday, 10am-noon card craft, 10am-10.45am feeling fit.
Enquiries for Baptism at St Mary and St Peter’s Church are welcome after the 6pm Eucharist on Tuesday and after the 9.30am Thursday Eucharist.
St Mary and St Peter’s is holding a ‘60s night on Friday, April 22, at 7.15pm. There will be music, bingo, raffle, quiz and food. Tickets are £3.50 for adult and £2 for children, available from the church.
On Saturday 23rd April 12.30pm a pie, peas, potatoes and dessert lunch will be held in the church hall, followed by a talk given by Mrs Anne Chisholm on Rington’s tea and coffee. Tickets cost £5 and can be obtained from church members.
Humbledon Methodist Church hosts a number of activities including: Sunday morning worship at 10.45am; Monday Brownies at 6.30pm; Tuesday Weight Watchers from 6pm; Wednesday Open Door from 10.30am-1pm, coffee and light lunches served.Thursday Slimming World from 6.30pm.
On Saturday Jim, from Thornbury Care Centre in Thorney Close, will embark on his third annual sponsored walk. If anyone would like to sponsor Jim on his walk, contact him on 0191 5201881. All money raised will help Jim buy some photo equipment, film projector and screen to enhance the lives of the residents at the centre. Thorney Close Karate Club members had a great the day out at their latest karate competition. Members made lots of new friends and took home many awards. The club meets in Thorney Close Enterprise Centre on Fridays from 5pm-6pm. For further details drop in or ring 07906441778.
