Christmas coffee morning will be held on Wednesday, December 16, from 10am to 11am in St Mary and St Peter’s Project. There will be a raffle, cake stall and much more,
A Christmas disco will be held in the project on Friday, December 18, from 5pm to 7pm. Tickets are £2 per childand include a hot dog and drink. All children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be lots of fun and games. Tickets are limited and must be purchased before the day.
Susan Ridley School Of Dance meets in the project every Monday at the following times: 4.30-5.30 dance technique/body tone 13 years- plus £5; 126.96.36.199 Musical Theatre, £5, to include song, dance, drama for those aged eight-plus. The next social event at St Mary and St Peter’s will be on Friday, December 11, which will be A Christmas party and grand Christmas draw. More details next week.
The last Fairtrade stall of the year will be on Sunday afterthe 9.30am Eucharist. There will also be a toy service where toys donated for needy children will be blessed during the service.
Advent services at Humbledon Methodist Church will be as follows: Sunday 10.45am a toy and gift service will be held, led by Minister the Rev David Richardson, with a display of Christmas cribs and knitted angels.On Christmas Eve a carol service will be held at 3pm. New Year’s Eve at 3pm there will be a half hour service, led by Minister the Rev David Richardson. this service will be followed with soup and refreshments served in the church hall. Tickets are £5.
A number of weekly events are held at Humbledon Methodist Church including: Sunday worship at 10.45am; Monday, Brownies at 6.30pm; Tuesday Weight Watchers from 6pm; Wednesday Open Door from 10.30am to 1pm, coffee and light lunches served; Thursday Slimming World from 6.30pm.
Thornbury care centre Christmas preparations are well on the way including a Christmas quiz , parties and visits from local schools and St Mary & St Peter’s Church. There is also going to be a special visit from Santa. Watch this space for more details.

Thornbury Care Centre activities Co-ordinator Jim is appealing for any unwanted saleable Christmas items toys, games, raffle prizes and other items for its Christmas fair on Saturday, December 12, from 1pm to 3pm.
