Due to the ever -increasing number of participants an extra class exercise class has been added at St Mary and St Peter’s Community Project, starting Tuesday, October 6, from 10am to 10.45am, suitable for all ages and abilities. St Mary and St Peter’s Community Project will be holding an autumn fair on Saturday, October 31, from 10am to noon. There will be face-painting, free hand massage and Reiki taster sessions, tombola, raffle, cake stall, refreshments plus much more.

Countdown to Christmas gets under way with children’s craft sessions, starting Monday, November 2, from 4pm to 5.30pm, running for five weeks. Each week members will make a different Christmas-themed craft, including Christmas cards, baubles and decorations. Sessions cost £1.50 per child and booking is advisable as places are limited.

NU YU holistic therapies was established by Sharon Charlton in March this year. Sharon is a qualified holistic practitioner and Reiki Master and is passionate about holistic and alternative therapies. It is offering a range of treatments in the beautiful therapy room in St Mary and St Peter’s Community Project. These are Usui Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Crystal Reiki, Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Indian Head Massage and facial treatments. There is also a range of holistic gifts so clients can continue to feel good after treatments, including incense, candles, oil burners, room sprays, salt lamps, natural and polished crystals, crystal jewellery and keyrings. Saint Mary and St Peter’s will have a Fairtrade stall on September 27 after the 9.30am Sunday Eucharist.

On Tuesday, September 29, a group Eucharist will be held at 7pm in St Thomas Church, Pennywell, to welcome the Group Ministry Assistants, who will be working across the group churches. A warm welcome is given to all.

A Sunday school takes place each Sunday at 9.30am in St Mary and St Peter’s children of all ages welcome.

Humbledon Methodist Church, Ettrick Grove, holds a number of weekly events: Sunday: Morning worshipis at 10.45am; Monday: Brownies at 6.30pm; Tuesday: Weight Watchers from 6pm; Wednesday: Open Door from 10.30am to 1pm, coffee and light lunches served; Thursday: Slimming World from 6.30pm.

On Saturday, October 3, a soup and bun lunch will be held at 12.30pm in Humbledon Methodist Church hall. Tickets are £5.

On Sunday, October 4, Humbledon Methodist Church harvest festival service will be held at 10.45am, conducted by a former minister, the Rev Hugh Sperring, who now lives in Middlebrough. Everyone is very welcome to share in the harvest weekend.
