As 50,000 music fans prepare to Spice Up Their Lives, Wearside is getting ready to welcome one of the world’s biggest pop groups to the city.

Wearside prepares to welcome the Spice Girls as they bring their Spice World tour to the Stadium of Light.

Baby, Ginger, Scary and Sporty will take to the stage at the Stadium of Light tomorrow (Thursday, June 6). Ahead of the big night, we have had a look as set-up for the show begins.

50,000 fans are expected at the Stadium of Light to watch Spice Girls.
The weather forecast for Thursday promises some sunshine as the Spice Girls take to the stage.
The stadium's main gates will open at 5pm. The Spice Girls are due to take to the stage at 8.30pm.
The Spice World tour started on May 24 at Croke Park, Dublin.
The 13-date tour will end at Wembley Stadium later this month.
Preparations underway for Thursday's huge concert.
