Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail starring Eric Idle, Michael Palin and John Cleese, Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest to find the Holy Grail amidst witch burnings and killer rabbits.

The show features the comedy group’s trademark irreverent comedy, as well as tunes including He Is Not dead yet, Knights of the Round Table, Find your Grail and Always look on the bright side of life.

Lee Passmoor, chairman of Dryburn Theatrical Workshop, said: “This is a hugely funny and entertaining show which our cast of all ages have loved rehearsing. It’s a

fast-moving and challenging production, bursting with songs and slapstick which also takes a clever but gentle swipe at musical theatre.”

Dryburn Theatrical Workshop has a long history of successful performances, bringing together a talented local cast, impressive productions and audiences

from across Durham, Chester-le- Street and the North East.

The musical is being staged at the Park View Theatre in Chester-le-Street from Wednesday June 14 to Saturday, June 17.
