On-song Whitburn paceman Kieran Waterson named in NEPL side to take on Durham Jets in T20 friendly

On-form Whitburn bowler Kieran Waterson has been named in a strong North East Premier League side to take on Durham in Tuesday's T20 friendly at Chester-le-Street's Ropery Lane ground (5.30pm).

The match is part of Durham Jets’ preparation for the start of the Vitality Blast T20 campaign, which begins away to Yorkshire on Thursday.

First up, Durham face a NYSD League representative team at Hartlepool on Monday (5.30pm). Admission to both matches is free.

Waterson has enjoyed an excellent season so far for Whitburn in the NEPL Premier Division, taking 8-53 against the Durham Academy two weeks ago.

The NEPL side will be skippered by Scotland international Kyle Coetzer and features former Durham and England star Phil Mustard, who is playing for Felling, and Chester-le-Street bowler Stephen Cantwell, who will hope to capitalise on his home-ground knowledge.
