Some public demonstrations need filming to safeguard against violence

I have witnessed three public gatherings in the city centre this September.

On Saturday, September 15, a demonstration took place which I will remember for the rest of my life as I was hit over the head as I sat on the bench next to the entrance of Gilbridge House.

Numerous acts of violence were carried out in the city centre that afternoon.

If they have another event in the city centre, I hope the police will film the proceedings from the first floor of Gilbridge House to identify who do what.

I also witnessed the parade of Orangemen in Fawcett Street the following Saturday and thought it as good-natured and peaceful as Sunderland Pride, which took place the next day.
