Congratulations to Stan and Joan Malloy, pictured above, who are celebrating their 70th anniversary this week. They have recently moved into Beckwith Mews, Silksworth, after living in Washington for 14 years and Hendon for 15 years.

A coffee morning will be held in North Street Methodist Church Saturday from 10am. Sunday is the church anniversary with Cherry Hanson, from the Salvation Army, at 10.30am.

Ryhope Engine Museum’s next free steaming event is Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm. There will be a classic car event on the Sunday

The next meeting of Church View Patient Group will take place at the Medical Centre, Silksworth, at 5.30pm tomorrow The speaker will be Kelly Wilson, from Healthwatch, talking about PPGs and how to recruit members. This will be followed by the AGM. Refreshments will be served at the beginning of the meeting.

There will be a coffee morning in Beckwith Mews, Silksworth on Friday from 10am. Proceeds are for Macmillan Cancer Care. All Welcome.

Silksworth IM Church (behind Blind Lane) holds many weekly activities and extend a warm welcome to everyone. Sunday worship is at 10.30am; Monday New You Group 9.30am; Tuesday prayer meeting 6am and Stay n Play 3.30pm.

Tom Urwin House, Silksworth recently hosted a coffee morning and light lunch, organised by the residents committee in aid of St Benedict’s Hospice. It raised £650. A big thank you from the committee to the residents, staff and friends of Tom Urwin House for their generous donations and attendance to make it such a success.
